                                          PREFACE
Several books are available which provide guidance to students appearing for NET/CSIR and
GATE Examinations. But there was a dearth of books which provided ample practice to the students by
incorporating numerous exercises. There was also a need of not only problems but their solutions as well,
                                          so as to allow self-assessment.
In response to the numerous letters of request sent by the candidates aspiring for NET/CSIR
and GATE, the authors have taken the initiative to write this book.
The book aims at providing exhaustive practice for all the topics of CSIR-NET/JRF and GATE
Examinations of Chemistry to the post-graduate students. The authors feel priviledged in presenting this
new book which has variation in exercises (the questions ranging from low, medium, high to very high
degree of difficulty), so as to encourage maximum learning. The main attraction of the book is that it covers the entire new syllabi of NET/CSIR and
GATE Examinations, under the heads of organic, inorganic and physical chemistry. In order to provide a comprehensive study of the subject, the
authors have included more than 2000 questions and their solutions in the book.
Keeping in view the demand of the aspiring candidates, the authors have thus presented an updated, unique and innovative book, which
aims at further enhancement of knowledge and a better understanding of even the most complex topics. The vast range of questions from a unique
perspective gives a real comprehension of the various topics related to the concerned examination.
The authors welcome critical feedback on this book and look forward to constructive suggestions for improving the book for the betterment
              of the students.
